Comments from Cllr Peter McDonald:
“For far too long rail users leaving Barnt Green Railway station have had to face cars coming up Fiery Hill Road at speeds well over the speed limit of 30mph. Making crossing the road quite dangerous.
A speed activator has now been installed near the entrance of the station in an effort to reduce the speed of vehicles. Research has clearly demonstrated, that ‘Vehicle activated’ signs appear to be very effective in reducing speeds; in particular, they are capable of reducing the number of drivers who exceed the speed limit.
Hopefully, the speed activator will have the desired affect making it safer for rail users and pedestrians alike to cross the road.”
